I can seriously listen to this song all day, all night.

Just this song alone is enough to make me grovel at Ms. Shena’s feet, not to mention the dozens of other 神曲’s that she has written.

And as usual, I feel compelled to share this vast wealth of ear-candy with you. Which one is your favorite?

I’m personally most partial to #4/the Just Can’t Help It version, since it’s so darn smoooooth. (Not to mention my fatal weakness to harmonized singing, fedora hats, and Izawa Ichiyou.)

I tried to complete this all in Japanese…but gave up in like, the first question.
Anyway.

■ 椎名林檎・東京事変を好きになったきっかけは？

最初から林檎さんはあまり好きじゃなかったです。When I first listened to Jpop, I had heard ｢ギブス｣ and ｢本能｣, which were good but I was too into Ayu to bother with it. Then came 「真夜中は純潔」 which for some reason, I hated. After that I sort of wrote her off as “Crazy Anime PV Lady With Annoying Trumpet Song” and unconsciously avoided her…till now. まぁ、昔の自分は馬鹿すぎる…

て、事変にはまってたのは、たまたま去年の｢娯楽｣をドウンロードして、またたまたま｢キラーチューン｣のＰＶをみて、どんどん好きになった。そこで｢大人｣→ ｢勝訴ストリップ｣→ ｢教育｣→ ｢JCHI｣→等等。｢大人｣の時もう完全に洗脳されました→ 今の依存症状態。

■ カラオケで唄う椎名林檎・東京事変の十八番は？

今まで｢修羅場｣と｢ギブス｣しか歌ってなかったdeath。
しかも、林檎さんのボーカルレベルは高すぎるから、“十八番”は言えないです。機会があれば、｢丸サディ｣を歌うのは楽しそうから、歌ってみたいです。

■ 椎名林檎・東京事変の此処が好き!って処を三つ挙げて下さい

いい曲いい声とかは基本だから…それ以外は：

1] メンバーたちの自由さ。インタビューのとき事変はいつもめちゃくちゃになて、でもすごく自然だし面白い。特に伊澤 ｘ 浮雲のぐでぐでトークが好き。暇だったらどうぞ：

2] 綺麗な日本語を使っていること。She makes me further appreciate the beauty of the language, but at the same time highlights how little I know of it. Their lyrics make me want to bury myself in a Japanese dictionary. Haha.

3] ジャンルが越えていること。Their musical talent allows them to cover so many different musical genres, and from the looks of it there’s only going to more genre-crossing fusion in the future. I think there’s something there for any music fan, well given that you don’t mind listening to Japanese music and you like Shena’s voice. And they’ve definitely broadened my musical horizons, so for that alone I’m very grateful.

■ 東京事変のメンバー(第一期を含むを含める)で誰が一番好き？理由もお願いします。

もちろん林檎さん。メンバーたちには、

伊澤一葉さん。
わっちのピアノは本当に心を溶けてしまいそう。
あと、喋る時の微妙さ、眠そうな顔、全体的に萌える。

でも刃田さんも、ドラムを叩く時に凄く楽しそう、彼を見ると一緒にハイパーになります。服センスもすごくいいですｗ
