edit:
But that’s proving to be a rather unpopular opinion these days.
明日からNYC. ちょっと久しぶりですけど、行きたくないyooooo…
Too much going on at once.
I’m only taking 7 credits! Why do I have stress????
AHHHHH@

I can seriously listen to this song all day, all night.
Just this song alone is enough to make me grovel at Ms. Shena’s feet, not to mention the dozens of other 神曲’s that she has written.
And as usual, I feel compelled to share this vast wealth of ear-candy with you. Which one is your favorite?
—
1) Shena Ringo: Live at “Gekokujyo Ecstasy Tour” 2000
2) Tokyo Jihen: Live at “Meet The World Beat” 2004
3) Tokyo Jihen: Live at “Dynamite Out” 2005
4) Tokyo Jihen: Live on “Bokura no Ongaku 2″ 2006
And sooo many other versions online as well. Admittedly they all start sounding the same after awhile, but it’s those little detailed tweaks that keeps this song evolving. In my dictionary, I call this, “brilliance.” Haha.
I’m personally most partial to #4/the Just Can’t Help It version, since it’s so darn smoooooth. (Not to mention my fatal weakness to harmonized singing, fedora hats, and Izawa Ichiyou.)

And THIS, is the result of the Marunouchi-brainwash.
Probably not the best song for an absolute beginner to tackle, but I’ve got to start somewhere eh?
(And wow, so much for blogging in Japanese.)
Last Semester Blues February 12, 2008

It’s been a while. (Ayaka, ikiteru yooooo haha!)
I’ve finally exhausted all excuses and realized I better dust off this blog before I abandon it out of shame.
Time’s been flying by at an alarming speed. I can’t believe it’s already mid-February. I don’t know if I want time to fast forward or stand still.
Anyhow, Stateside life is fairly peaceful and uneventful as usual. Life mostly revolves around classes and Tokyo Jihen these days. No day is complete without watching at least 3-5 songs from a Jihen concert, but that’s an entirely different post for a different day.
In between Jihen and classes, I’ve also begun to cook. And by cook, I mean add toppings to my once plain instant ramen. Yums. (No, really, it’s delicious, I don’t care what anyone says.)
Academically, it’s shaping up to be a pretty good semester. I have a lot more free time on my hands now that I’m in my final semester and only taking three courses, one of them a one-credit beginner’s piano class (gee, thanks a lot Izawa).
Besides of watching Jihen lives, I spend most of my new-found freedom sleeping in the arms of my faithful comforter. Even with 5-7 hours of sleep a night on weekdays (which used to be generous in the past), I end up taking 1-3 hour naps every other day.
Well, not that there’s anything wrong with sleeping; in fact I’m a staunch “let’s sleep till the sun burns out” advocate (not a The Used fan though), but in the light of my imminent departure from the States, it does seem like a slight waste of time. I should be out traveling, socializing, partying, doing cliche “American” things before I leave for good.
But I suppose slumber is my way of dealing with the ugly reality of finding a job. There’s no better way than self-delusion and escape.
I highly recommend it.
And really, there’s no such thing as the real world, right Mr. Mayer?
Right. I’ll keep telling myself that.
Good night then.
