One of BoC’s new singles, out last week.
Slightly disturbing music video aside, this song is amazing.
Although I can’t translate the lyrics word for word, from what I can understand, it makes the emo inside of me want to scream and cry. Very beautiful. Have a listen even if you’re not a fan of J-pop.

I normally consider myself a fairly modest person.
But please allow me a few minutes to get big-headed.
I am a proud student at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
It’s not only one of the leading communication schools in the country, but is also affiliated with the Newhouse family, which is a fairly big deal for magazine journalism majors like me. The Newhouses own Conde Nast, who publishes magazines such as Vogue, Glamour, GQ…and the list goes on. While the school’s name may not carry much weight outside of the U.S., it’s so much more than the reputation. Classes are stimulating, professors are engaging, and facilities top-notch. It’s really the main reason why I’ve stayed in this ‘frozen tundra’ for the past three years.
As a result, many, most of who are non-Newhouse SU students, say Newhouse students are excessively proud and obnoxious (there’s a Facebook group called “I’m In Newhouse, And You’re Not,” currently 424 members strong). While this elitist attitude is probably true, I personally feel it’s well-founded. Although this feeling wears off sometimes (especially when struggling on news articles at 4:30 a.m.), I always feel like what I learn matters and a motivation to push myself harder.
It may also be the fact that this was maybe the first time I had something I wanted, worked hard for, and ultimately received. When I initially entered college, I wasn’t getting anywhere near Newhouse’s marble floors with my high school grades. But endless all-nighters in freshman year allowed me to transfer in and join the ranks of some of the smartest classmates I’ve ever met.
Last month, we celebrated the opening of Newhouse III, the third building to be added to our school. The First Amendment is etched around the building to showcase Newhouse’s dedication to the freedom of speech. In addition, one of the most powerful men in America, Chief Justice John Roberts, came to dedicate the opening (although his speech was rather lackluster).
I’ve attached some photos of the building below. It’s quite a sight to behold.

Yay, I’m ecstatic Kaka is getting the recognition he deserves!
He’s certainly one of the most talented and graceful footballers out there these days, not to mention good looking as well. (And of course I had to add a picture of his gorgeous wife, who rumor has it, is pregnant!)
However, I don’t know what to say about AC Milan’s current bad form and embarrassments. But those aside, here’s a sample of Kaka’s mindblowing skills in action:

Wow, September sure flew by.
Apologies to my handful of readers for the month-long neglect.
I feel like I’ve spent the past month doing nothing but playing video games. It’s like this mini gamer’s circle was born in the past month. Parties and weekends meant tournaments, with everyone cranking away at games, either all together or in little groups on different consoles (our house is home to 4 televisions, 2 PS2’s, 1 GameCube, 1 Wii, 3 Nintendo DS’s, 1 PSP, and three bored seniors).
Although all my social interaction now equals game-play, at least it hasn’t interfered with work (yet). But it did cause me to completely miss all live coverage of the three fashion weeks. So much for “important dates to live by.” But I’ve caught up on several of the collections and this season is looking pretty good. More on that later though (like a month later?)…
Anyway, September also meant more work and less sleep. Last week was one of the toughest weekends in terms of deadlines, and now I finally have a breather before another slew of them next week. Ugh, my apathy for college has never been higher. I just want it all to end now so I can do something more substantial with my life (like bum around and play video games 24/7).
Alas, ’tis the life of a spoilt, unsatiable brat.

気がづいたら、九月もう終わりました。
この一ヶ月、生活がどんどんだらしなくなていて、ゲームに夢中で過ごしたの気がします。
週末いつも誰が来て、鉄拳、テトリス、桃鉄、カウンターストライクとか何時間もやっています。ちょっと時間の無駄ですけど、他のやることもないから、楽しいくていいと思います。
もっとヤバイのは、最近毎日９時後晩ご飯を食べています。体がひどいです。
ルームメートさんと「ビリ」を始まったんですけど、５、６ 回しかやてない、しかも毎日じゃないです。毎日もいっぱい食べているから、あまり効果がないと思います。
ああ、私としたことが・・・(爆）
